- Grape Vine (Also known as Vitis Vinifera) is an excellent climbing vine that is widely noted for its remarkable foliage, its fragrant green-whitish blooming flowers followed by clusters of edible grape fruits which are generally sweet from inside but have bitter skin outer portions. They have a particular type of foliage that emerges as green in the spring, then delicately flushed by burgundy and then during summer it gets further shaded by burgundy. Usually, their grapes come in hanging form from its limbs. This whole background along fruits and foliage, Grape vine makes an excellent ornamental decoration plant. They could be easily grown in sturdy support such as for walls, fences or pergolas. Perfect for cottage or Mediterranean Outdoor gardens.
Grapevines are very easy to care for.
- These vines will perform well when kept in presence of full sunlight to partial shade condition. Keep watering moderate enough to keep their soil moist, not wet. Whatever soil you use should drain freely. And for this fruit bearing plant there must be enough good air circulation around. To keep their growth healthy, ideally temperature must be around 27 to 40 degree Celsius. As for fertilizing, use any organic fertilizers.

- They are basically grown for their edible fruits, grapes that are widely consumed raw, or for making wines or other beverages etc. Apart from their edible uses, these rounded coloured fruits and certain parts of their plants have been used in traditional medicines, like in dealing with cough, cases of enlarged liver and spleen, tuberculosis, smallpox, constipation, cancer, nausea, eye infection and respiratory tract. In Western folk medicines, their sap has been known for being used to stop pain, bleeding, and inflammation of haemorrhoids. In Ayurvedic treatment, they have been used as antioxidants, especially to improve a person's appetite and metabolism.
