Cherry Tomato is the father of all tomato species.

• Scientifically known as Solanum Lycopersicum Var. Cerasiforme, Cherry Tomato is a very huge variety of tomato, that is widely cultivated. It is known to be the father of all cultivated tomatoes, and cultivated since the 17th century back originated from Northern Chile and Peru.  The tomatoes that this plant bears are somewhat spherical and come in a wide range of sizes. There is a wide range in colours too, like from red to green, orange, striped ones or even purple-coloured tomatoes.

Cherry Tomato is a widely cultivated tomato species.

• The edible fruits that this plant bears, is an excellent source for Vitamin A, and Vitamin C. It tastes good in raw and even while in cooked state. Apart from daily culinary purposes, they are also used in production of sauce, puree and even curry paste etc.

It contains certain medicinal values too.

• Tomatoes have been known for containing certain chemical compounds, Lycopene. This compound plays an important role in preventing cancer.

Cherry Tomatoes are very easy to care for.

• This warm seasonable crop is also tolerant to conditions like drought, heat, soil and climatic conditions. They perform well when kept in presence of full sunlight. Water them abundantly, especially during summer. Keep it consistent. The soil on which they are supposed to be planted must be loamy. Ideal temperature to ensure their healthy growth is 18.33 to 29.44 degree Celsius. When it comes to feeding, use organic fertilizers, and apply them 2 weeks before first pick, and after 2 weeks of first pick.
