• Russelia plant (Russelia equisetiformis) – Firecracker plants are multi-branched ornamental shrubs, that are very well known for its coral-red tubular. Mainly blooms from the season of late Spring to fall all year-round. They are also known as Coral plants due their flower appearance. These multi-branched plants basically have no foliage, but are formed in like many weeping green branches with insignificantly small dense leaves. These wiry branches may start with erect but then fall on cascading down. Russelia plants grow up to 180 cm in length and 60 cm in width. They could easily cascade from any walls, or form ground beds. And with their easy growing conditions, they are relevant for mass planting, patios, etc. They could be responsible to bring hummingbirds or butterflies to your outdoor gardens.

Easy to care for and low maintenance.

• Considering the general growing conditions, these flowering plants require at least 3 – 6 hours of daily morning sunlight, and for the rest of the period, they could be kept in presence of natural direct bright light. Water them only after checking the dryness of topsoil (2 – 5 cm). Water abundantly during the summer season, and gradually reduce it during winter and rainy seasons. The soils on which they are supposed to be planted must be well-drained, fertile and packed with organic nutrients. Russelia plants (russelia equisetiformis) perform well when the pH range of soil is 6.5 to 7.5. The best temperature range for healthy growth is 20 to 35 degree Celsius. When it comes to feeding, use organic fertilizer especially during the growing season.
